UniFL, Consistent Character Making, Steerable Motion, Ranni and SDFX

Hello - this is SinkIn Newsletter, a newsletter made by sinkin.ai. There are interesting things going on in the image AI world every day. We try to capture them with a 5 minutes read, so you can quickly stay up to speed with the latest trends and breakthroughs.

It's been another week filled with joyful advancements, let's jump right in.

UniFL from ByteDance is a new framework to enhance diffusion models, addressing common limitations like poor visual quality and slow processing. The team claims that UniFL surpasses ImageReward by 17% user preference in terms of generation quality and outperforms LCM and SDXL Turbo by 57% and 20% in 4-step inference. Moreover, it shows efficacy in Lora, ControlNet, and AnimateDiff.

For those into character design, this is a tutorial on using Stable Diffusion and Automatic 1111 Forge for generating consistent character faces. It's a step-by-step guide that covers settings and offers some resources. Could be helpful for projects requiring detailed and consistent character visuals.

Steerable Motion 1.3 improves on driving videos with image batches by offering higher detail, smoother motion, and better control. This advancement is part of significant progress in Animatediff, aiming for precise video steering with upcoming SD1.3. It allows for precise animation control by adjusting frame settings, resulting in a wide variety of video types. Quality-wise, it competes well against tools like Pika, with enhancements from Animatediff. The technology supports creative extensions, like using depth maps for layered motion or structured image generation, available through various user-friendly workflows and tools.

Ranni is a method enhancing text-to-image models by using a "semantic panel" as an intermediary to better interpret complex instructions. This panel, structured by visual concepts from text and aided by large language models, guides the image generation more precisely. Ranni improves textual control over image output, enabling users to adjust images directly or through text, offering advancements in interactive image creation and editing.

SDFX empowers users to create sophisticated user interfaces for intricate workflows, seamlessly combining a ComfyUI workflow with a dynamic user interface. Each application is crafted with enriched JSON that details workflow, metadata, and UI component associations, ensuring both functionality and aesthetics. The upcoming SDFX App Creator will let you create UI mapping by introducing a visual design interface with drag & drop capabilities, which will greatly simplify the process of linking UI controls with the corresponding node parameters in the workflow graph.
